Goldenstar of the Quick Post

The Grand Order of the Lost Mathom invitesyou to join them for a player-event being hosted on Laurelin.

Starting Location: Michael Delving
Finish Location: Rivendell – The Last Homely Home
Date: 7th August
Time: 19:30 [BST] 14:30 [Server Time]

The story of this event is that Bilbo is requesting some of the comforts of the Shire be delivered to him in Rivendell via the Shire’s popular Quick Post. The items will be provided (it is a race, not a scavanger hunt) but you are not running this race alone. Gather a team of 4 and have each at their post ready to run. At each location the item’s will be traded between team members and the relay will continue. The first to reach Rivendell with there items intact will win.

  1. Running is allowed and encouraged.
  2. Using horses/goats or any sort of speed boost is not allowed.
  3. The use of items that give a speed boost is also not allowed.
  4. Using quick travel/porting skills will also not be allowed

It is truely amazing how many nice player-made events are held on all different server of LotRO!

You just gotta love this community! ;)

Sounds fun. I have a lowbie char on Laurelin. He didn’t get very far because the militant RP on the server kinda scared me off. I wonder if I can find some friends to level with me so we can get to Rivendell without dying…

There are alot of nice people on Laurelin who im sure are willing to help you out with just about anything. If you stumbled onto some rigid RP lore-nerds (yes indeed they actually do wonder around) please have another try because most people, also the RPers and even the more hardcore RPers, are actually quite considerate towards non-RPers and as long as you dont disturb their RP they dont bother you either.

I heared a good tip yesterday when i was in the Pony. If/when a hardcore RPer steps up to you in the Pony and starts of with “[name] suddendly steps up to you trusting a sharp knife at your guts screaming!” just respond with “[yourname] gets the sharp knife pushed deep in his abdomen and drops cold dead on the floor!”

…that will end their enforced RP quite fast!

@Pointy – I joined Laurelin 2 years ago and havent seen any militant RP.
Levelling up is very good idea, the mobs in the trollshaws love the taste of young Hobbit *grin*

@Caelas – I agree with you, I have tried other MMOs and keep coming back to Lotro. Other games may have greater graphics, better UI, but you can’t build an amazing community like Lotro has.

@Goldenstar – Thanks for mentioning this event *cheer* My kinmates were excited to see it on CSTM.

Because I really appreciate the initiative and as a guild leader I hereby sign up with, at least, one team from our guild, even though we have a shortage of hobbits. No pun intended!
