Today, Turbine has released new concept art from The Lord of the Rings Online: Rise of Isengard, the upcoming expansion. The new concept art piece depicts Draigoch, one of the most powerful creatures in Middle-earth, and the boss in the new 24-player raid coming with Rise of Isengard, which launches on September 27th.
What we know about this dragon is that it’s supposed to be HUGE. So huge that in an interview with Adam Mersky and Aaron Campbell with Massively we were told “Most of the time you’re just going to be looking at his head, because the body is too large to effectively have 24 people push it around.”.

Well, I have this poster of Ciruelo hanging on my wall: http://muchasmiradas.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/ciruelo.jpg – This looks as if the concept artist is a Ciruelo fan too…

It’s likely that this is a dragon we have to kill so that it doesn’t join the forces of Saurman, which would be a riff on the Smaug story. Looking forward to seeing how they implement this.

nice artwork, reminds me of D&D art for dragons, which I love. Go figure with Turbine running DDO as well.
