In this episode we take a look at Lyrical by Astleigh. This plugin allows you to write and store poems, lyrics, speeches, or whatever text you’d like and recite them back into the last chat channel you spoke in. If you wish to change chat channels, you merely need to change your chat channel per the normal way and your text will go into it as well. It is a very intuitive interface with saving, editing and deleting being very easy to accomplish. It also is able to be used with the German and French locales; making it a universally available plugin.
Frankly it will save a ton of time for anyone who wishes to roleplay, recite poetry, sing lyrics, or even give out raid strategies and rules.

It probably could in the future, but right now I think Lua is a bit too limited to support that.

You could sync it as in using your alias while playing music so you don’t have to frantically type. A manual syncing of sorts but there’s no way to set it and have it play the song and have it say the words at the proper timing.

I wonder if it can me made to make emote-scripts?
instead of actual words you type /hug instead for each row?

It does work with /emote and I have seen it used during a poem recital.
I use it for song lyrics whilst playing an .ABC
On Laurelin, song lyrics are shown by using the # symbol.
e.g. #Oh show me a home, where the buffalo roam#
It helps to differentiate it from general chat in the /say channel.
Different chat channels can be assigned by adding the /1, /2, /k, etc. to the front of each line. The default output is to /say.
During big events it can be used as a “Pre-recorded” statement.
A great little addition to Lotro.

We used Lyrical for a play we put on last month. We actually used /em for each line so all the folks in the cheap seats could see it. My page included stage directions sent to the raid chat in addition to my own lines. Worked like a dream for all nine people in the cast.
I also use Lyrical for festival dances and for emote bombing. It can also be quite useful for storing text that one might use frequently, particularly for kinships officers (such as recruitment text, questions for recruits, vent information, website URL, CSTM link, etc).

One of the best ways I’ve seen Lyrical used is during Gaigil’s performances at Ales and Tales. While the story is being recited she uses a variety of emotes to help keep the interest of her audience. Every time she does this she gets rave reviews.
I think the Lyrical program was created by Astleigh, another member of our kin. We have such a creative and fun bunch.
