In the aftermath of the raid upon Zabadgathol, Mazog sets his strength against Durin’s Folk, assaulting many key encampments. If the Twenty-first Hall falls, then the advantage falls to Mazog’s orcs.
Welcome to the Twenty-first Hall. I am sorry, but the Auction Hall is currently closed due to a little problem we are having with orcs. If you wish to survive this day, then I suggest you take up a weapon and help in the defense.
Battle of the Twenty-first Hall is the tenth skirmish we will examine in Pineleaf’s Pictorial Primer to Skirmishing. Here we will discuss the scenario, the enemy, and the encounters you will face as you prepare to defend the key hub within Moria.

the ‘pdf only’ offerings for some of these write-ups can sure bring the momentum to a crawl for those of us who like to browse cstm away from our pc. =(
i’ll try to check it out later I guess, I’m sure it’s a great primer, as usual.

These primers are way too lengthy for a blog post in my opinion. I’m not sure how you are browsing away from your PC but all my mobile devices view PDF just fine. Can you explain?

Great detailed guide on this recent skirmish. Any chance on putting together a guide to the Icy Crevasse next? That one seems to give me the most trouble…

Next will be Attack at Dawn. I will be doing Icy Crevasse after that.

Great guide Pineleaf! Ive read them all so far and found them very useful when running a skirm.

I was wondering if you had a set list of skirmishes you considered “must-run” for reasons such as skirmish marks (with or without dailies) per hour, easy to run for marks, deeds, or in game cash, and what your feelings were on tier difficulties. I may have gotten on the bandwagon late, but I just can’t seem to run them quick enough to get marks which I need to upgrade my soldier which is necessary before I start “wasting” marks on things like cosmetics and gear. Right now, it takes me so long to run them, I almost feel like it is the only thing I ever do…a full day gets me only so far. I would also be interested to hear your thoughts on traits…which ones are the best ones to spend the marks on for your soldiers and which ones might given you the most trouble if they aren’t equipped and kept up to level. I know everyone has play styles, but I can’t seem to survive well enough to spread marks on enough soldier traits. Clearly, I have skirmish issues!

I found this guide after failing this skirmish 3 times (at level 56 with a fairly buffed up soldier). I breezed through most of the skirmish until that end boss. I’d start fighting him, then suddenly notice my morale was at about 15% and he had called in buddies with bows. I carefully read your guide, stocked up on banners for the last fight, and killed him quick after placing 5 banners. What a difference that made! I had not realized you could place multiple banners before. I also saw the description of that corruption (+30% damage) and realized that removing it was a high priority! Thanks for a thorough and useful guide!
