This dungeon run was recorded on June 15, 2011. Our dungeon runners today were Kiarane (hunter), Goldenstar (minstrel) and the camera is being run by Merric (guardian).
Merric runs with several plug-ins active for his game. Buffbars, Palantir, TonicBars, AltInventory. More information on LOTRO plug-ins can be found in our plug-in guides section.

I still have to do all of these. I’ll have to ask if anyone’s up for it next time I’m on.

Do people pug these instances? I have never seen anyone trying to make groups for any of the newer instances. Also have never had kinmates that even talk about the instances. Maybe its just my server.

In Glff people do all the time. Start one up yourself! (I suggest Tier 1 to begin)
If your kinnies don’t talk about doing runs of something you want, schedule it yourself and get people interested in them

on my server (Imladris), the 3-mans get pugged all the time. You’ll very often see someone saying “LFF NCF/SH” – took me a while to realise ppl were talking ‘stoneheight’ not ‘sword halls’ there lol. The 6-mans are definitely run on my server, but generally in kin or regular groups due to their difficulty – they’re not all that hard once you’ve learned em (like SG), but they’re really frustrating to pug.
I wouldn’t regard the 3-mans as *particularly* difficult – NCF can be really annoying to pug because of how long it seems to take most people to get the concept of ‘don’t stand in the acid puddles’ – srsly, the number of tanks I’ve seen die in acid puddles vs the spider or just everyone die in the acid puddles vs the cauldron is just depressing. I actually regard stoneheight as the easier of the two for this reason, it’s a much more straightforward tank and spank. The only ‘strategy’ is to get ready to front load your heals in the first boss and the avoid the really obvious “come and play” script for the second and 3rd boss. You gotta be at least decently geared to survive T2 but I’ve done it with a few wonky class combos, it actually works pretty well with a champ tank.

this is a well built instance but man is it hard… at least the first boss anyway. I’ve only sucessfuly gotten past boss #1 once on my hunter. Tried tanking it several times on my warden but it was impossible to beat the first boss :/

Great video. After I watched it I ran Stoneheight T1 for the first time myself. It was a well composed, sturdy PUG (Captain/Captain/Guardian), so we didn’t have much trouble. Thankfully there was no dps race in this instance (unlike when I had run Northcotton Farm T1 with a Captain/Captain/Warden group, we barely had enough dps to take down the cauldron on our umpteenth attempt).

Very nice that you do these runs on video. It helps people get over their “first-timer-fear”. I know I suffer a lot from it, and usually scramble for information before I dare to set a first step into an instance. These video’s are a great help!

I just ran this for the first time the other day it was really easy with me a mini, a warden and rk. The warden basically kite tanked the first guy and spammed conviction and rk burned them down and we went all blues on cjs. On my server they get pugged all the time people started using sth for stone height so as not to be confused with sword halls. NCF was a fail with me, burg and different rk.

Greetings! Love the video! and just a simple question, how does one record a video of the game? Is there a guide somewhere like the one for plug ins? I play instances a lot with my kin and would love to record videos of it! will be glad if you could help, thanks!
