This is a special episode with CSTM’s Skirmish Correspondent, Pineleaf! We discuss the latest announcement of the Turbine Global Service, the bullroarer release notes, notes on the anniversary and more!
What We Are Up To:
This week Pineleaf was able to get his lore-master to level 65 and apart from V2B8 has caught up on epic quests. Pineleaf’s warden joined his Wednesday night group to run the North Cotton Farms and the Battle of the Deep-way. On Bullroarer, Pineleaf tried the two new skirmishes and checked the Moria skirmishes for potential fixes.
Goldenstar was able to get the shire map and toy windmill thanks purely to anniversary lotteries. I was close enough (only 3 tokens) from the anniversary horse after lottery winnings that Goldenstar sucked it up and played 3 beer brawls to earn her new pony. Her Rune-keeper was able to finally finish all of Volume 1. On Bullroarer, she ran Halls of Night with Kiarane.
Merric’s Rune-keeper took advantage of the double exp weekend and was able to get up to level 45. On Bullroarer, Merric ran the Inn of the Forsaken with Goldenstar and Kiarane.

Grinili:
Hello Merric and Goldenstar. I am a great fan of your podcast and have been listening for over a year now. Over here in the EU we are very happy with the codemaster moderating policy. However as the EU boards are soon to shut, (and many of us find the Turbine forums too strict). A good guy called Muer has started up a new lotro forum. The aim is to have a forum where players are free too discuss and voice their opinions without posts been closed down or edited. It only opened a few days ago and it’s population is fast growing.
Many of us would greatly appreciate it if you could post the link in your show notes.
Thanks Grinili

Ivaneus:
I am running a Warleader Bootcamp on Friday the 6th of May (details here) and am extending an invitation to you and all the writers of CstM to come along if they so wish to. Also if you wish to livestream the event then please tell me so I can inform participants to moderate their language appropriately (if necessary), otherwise feel free to do so.
And if you would like to say something on the show or blog
about this I would be most grateful.

EU players shouldn’t be worried about lag.
I’ve been playing from Europe on the Turbine servers without any such issues (except when there was a general lag problem affecting everyone).

@Pineleaf: Temple of Apshai, yes! Played on my C64 back in the day. Is that dating us? I hope not! Good times…

Another great podcast.
It sounds like that skirmish area with the damage or healing buffs will be perfect for my burg main, esp the boss fight. CC the boss, burn down the other one first, and keep keep regular or traited disable trick up on the target so that my damage is magnified with the +50% area buff, and theirs is held back by 15-20% plus 15-20% slower attack speed so the +50% buff doesn’t buff them too as much.
THANK YOU PINELEAF!!! Great guides on skirmishes, and I love the alt-o-holic article series, as I am one as well, and I tend to skirmish a lot for leveling, esp on alts. It helps a lot to have a heads-up on the troubles different classes will face in skirmishes and plan ahead for it.

Just been checking up on the few episodes I missed whilst we were away. As always I have to say a great job, and it was cool to hear Azz on the last, and Pineleaf on this; great job all!
I’m not sure what the economy is like on the AH in the US, I guess we’ll all find out soon, but on Eldar there is a pretty cool way to skirmish, get you class items and make a but load of cash, and it goes like this:
1)Skirmish for 1900 odd marks
2)buy a scroll of empowerment instead of your class item and sell it for 22-28 Gold on the AH
3)Buy you class quest item on the AH (some are 2-400 silver, some: Rune and Slime are 8-9 Gold)
4)Feel smug you have not only your major class quest item, but a health profit in gold.
check your server economy first, but for the most part this is a pretty sweet way to go about it, if you would rather skirmish that visit CD or Uru.
