A Casual Stroll to Mordor podcast is now available for streaming through the web application Podcastr. No syncing to iTunes required to have the latest episode! It works over 3G, Edge or wifi connections.
Podcastr is a web based podcast player app that works for iPhone, iPad, iPods, Macs and PCs. There is a note from Podcastr that this may become available for Android devices in the future versions with HTML5 support.
Because it is web based, there is nothing to install. Simply browse to our CSTM Podcastr page, create a bookmark or a home screen shortcut to the page. Last played and play position is synced on every device using the same bookmark enabling listeners to pick up where they left off on any iOS device or desktop computer.
Podcastr is free for use and is ad supported. You will see little google ads on the bottom of the screen. Just a warning if that bothers you. The ads are part of Podcastr’s service and not controlled by CSTM.
This is different from our iPhone/iPod Touch app as it will only include the podcast episodes. The blog posts or any of the other additional services in our downloaded app will not be available through podcastr.

Hi. Really cool, but i get this when i open CSTM there:
“Your browser is not currently supported. To use this application, Javascript and HTML5 LocalStorage must be enabled.”
I’m using Safari and have both jscript and html5 …

Hmmm I took the screenshot above using chrome (I don’t have a mac desktop). The other screenshot I used though was the safari browser on my iphone which worked. I am not sure what LocalStorage means but perhaps that’s a safari setting?

Well I used Safari for Windows here. But I will try it on Mac when I’m home. Lets see if hope it works there.

Make it work on RIM phones….

This is not a service CSTM is programming or controls. I’m sorry. Podcastr is just a service we’re using to stream our content.

Oh I understand. I’m just letting you know that this particular service from Podcastr is not CSTM controlled. Compatibility with other devices is purely something Podcastr has to build into their service and not something we choose.
If I had the knowledge to make a RIM phone app, I certainly would do it.
