Codemasters has been able to test the hotfix launched by Turbine yesterday and have announced that Echoes of the Dead will launch on their system tomorrow!
We are happy to announce that this maintenance day, Thursday 24th March, Update 2: Echoes of the Dead will be applied to the European LOTRO service.
Maintenance will take place from 7.00 to 15.00 UK time (GMT). This patch will include the Hotfix that addresses the relic combining issue.
Along with this announcement comes some special instructions concerning instances.
Please do not log your character off and leave it in an instance for Update 2’s maintenance window tomorrow, as this could cause un-wanted issues for your character due to the changes the Update makes. Thank you for your co-operation.
Do people log out in instances? I had never even considered such a thing. Anyway, don’t do it!

yay can’t wait.
And people may log out in an instance by accident, like say the client crashes and they didn’t bother to log back in to leave. Should only effect instances with gloom too, but better to be on the safe side and not be in any instance

Myself and a few kinnies were wondering if it would affect instances with hope as well. Tom Bambadil’s house and The last lonely house as well.

I was once booted from the game inside a Grand Stair instance (my internet went down for a few hours) so it does happen, but I would never intentionally log out inside an instance. Actually, as soon as you leave the fellowship it automatically boots you out of it and back into the game world, for good reason apparently!

Yeah I’ve been booted in the Rift a few times and not been able to get back in.
Couple of times I’ve logged back in (after being DC’d while in a raid) in the middle of my own private instance with a load of mobs around me because we hadn’t cleared the boss yet. THAT was fun.

We ran DG/Lieutenant last night on Laurelin EU but sadly could not finish him. It got kind of late and i actually was going to log when we quit but still in the instance when i remembered i wanted to sent something to one of my alts still… Glad i did!
