-2 cups of Flour
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
-1/2 cup of butter
-3/4 cup of sugar
-1 Chicken egg
-1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions:

Whisk together flour, salt, and baking powder in a medium bowl.

In a second bowl, cream butter and sugar; mix until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla; mix until well combined. Slowly add reserved flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

Shape into 2 discs. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes, and transfer to prepared baking sheets.

Put in the oven at 350° and bake until lightly golden, about 10 minutes; do not allow to brown. Transfer to wire racks to cool.

This simple sugar cookie recipe is a very good base if you want to decorate your cookies, dip them in chocolate or add colored sugar sprinkles!
