Decoration Ideas: Yule Spirit

Housing & Furniture Guides

Winter is at our doors! Outside, houses are starting to adorn their holiday lights and traditional wreath on their doors. Join the Yule spirit and decorate your LOTRO home with some exclusive Winter Festival items. Perfect to receive guests for the festivities!

First with in yard, know that snowmen are a must this year. ScreenShot00000 (2)

Isilwren also suggested to display some Lorien Lamp to complete your yard decoration. With theirs beautiful white crystals, they look like impressive ice sculptures. ScreenShot00003

Inside your house, go get one of those amazing wallpaper from the Yule Gift boxes. With their festive decorations, they will instantly bring some Yule spirit in your home! To create a cosy and warm interior, I prefer to use darker colors like Olive or Umber. ScreenShot00005

Green an red are traditional colors during this season. Complete your wall paper with some elven red furniture and some red rugs from Thorin’s Hall Furniture Vendor. ScreenShot00001

That lamp from the In League is the perfect accessory for Yule designs! Also, since our wallpapers are so festive, I’ll prefer to balance them with a plain floor. It will keep the action on the walls and avoid creating too much chaos in my design.  ScreenShot00000 (3)

Winter time means you’ll need extra warm fire into your house. On a side note, if your unsure about the wall color you want to use, try not putting any. You might like it!ScreenShot00003 (2)

Finally, don’t forget you can now use large rugs in small hooks! Experiment a bit with your new decoration possibilities, you might get surprised, hehe. ScreenShot00004

Have a great Yule everyone!

How do you get the ribbon and garland effect around the walls? I suppose I should jump into your housing guides, eh?

Yay! Kia used my name in her blog! I had to run into Lothlorian after reading this, doing various dailies until I could get my lantern. Finally got it today and it is now in my yard. I was going to use Forochel decorations too, but I think I’ll hold off until the Yule festival.
Inside of house is nearly done. I’m using the dwarf yule wallpaper (dyed green), and whatever animals I had hunted in Forochel as decoration.
Would that it would snow in Falathorn!

The lothlorien lamp is very cool at night too. I’ve had one in my garden for over a year, and it’s one of the things that never gets put away.

    Loverly!

I had a thought the other day: I know they can’t exactly have seasons change in the game world proper as it’s on a set timeline with the story (though the inhabitants of Middle-earth still have their seasonal festivals…time warp…) but what if seasons changed in the homesteads?

Granted this would take some work as each neighborhood would have to be entirely “reskinned” and it would be a strange continuity break to go from sunny Bree-land in early fall to a Bree homestead in the dead of winter, but it would be very cool!

    Maybe one day.
