I’m really curious to see how the release will be handled and whether Turbine will do something to encourage VIPs to part with their stockpiled points before Isengard launches.

That sounds like fun. But I was hoping the announcement would include more content for level 65 players. I think I am going to take a bit a of a break until some new content is released.

But they just announced five new levels of content! And the press release makes it sound as though there’ll be content updates with new areas through 2011 – before we get to Isengard.

I would think so. There’s at least a zone or two between us and Isengard yet.

there is a article that is from massively i believe that says this expansion will have a few new raids. and will probably have dunland coming with it, that’s a lot of content. or it is to me, im not even done with endiwaith yet..well tonight i will be.

You could be right. I could see them placing new content in older zones. I imagine that would be a little bit less of a workload than creating new zones while working on the new zones for the expansion.

This trailer is just AWFULL in the German version. Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQclRPByMVI – I don’t think you need to understand German to judge how terrible the voice over is.

This is Turbine’s third attempt at making a trailer video with German voice over, and this is taking it from “bad” (Mirkwood) to “even worse” (f2p) and “ouch my ears” (this one).

Perhaps strangely, the one thing that really jumped out at me was “access to new… virtues.” Will the cap be raised above 10?

Am I going to have to go back to grinding!?! :P

I wish it wasn’t so far away, but it’s good news nonetheless!

Very cool news indeed! Can’t wait to get further south. This gets us closer to Rohan then Gondor and Mordor!

It’s a year off yet. I’m not surprised they’ve not shown anything beyond concept art. A lot of things might look radically different (and better) a year from now.

Sounds like good news all around to me. Sure, they’ve told us we’re going to Isengard, but it’s nice to get official announcements. Obviously we’ll be seeing a lot more of it as time goes on.

Really awesome to hear about the expansion coming, totally excited. The trailer is hilariously bad. Looks like they threw it together on the cheap. From where I’m coming from, I hope to God they put out some new beefy content soon. Less fluff. Enedwaith was fun, for the 2 days it took to bring my guy through casually, yes casually. Please don’t flame me for being a bit negative on Turbine, but I have been playing since the beginning and I’m a lifer, and people like me would like to see the game produce a lot less fluff content and pull us back in with some new instances, new gear, new raids, new 1st age and 2nd weapons. Fall 2010 is a long, long, long way off festivals and 2 day zones aren’t gonna be enough.

I’ve been going through Enedwaith for about a month and a half. I’ve only now exhausted the non-repeatable quests, and I still haven’t gotten all the exploration deeds done. 2 day zone this is not.

Still, I would rather have heard an announcement for Dunland in Spring than Isengard in Fall. Its just too far off.

I am eagerly looking forward to this, but I have one question. I think i may be imagining things here but wasnt it said somewhere that VIPS’s wont have to pay for future expansions??? I dont mind paying, but i could of sworn i read that somewhere from Turbine.

No I do not believe that has been stated. We were told we wouldn’t have to purchase zones that the Free/Premium folks must buy like Lone-Lands and I think mentioned that there would be some updates VIPs would get at no cost (like Enedwaith). The plan calls for just more of the same for VIPs. We pay for expansions like Moria and Mirkwood and get extra between goodies at no charge.

    Wow, Saruman looks mad.

I hope they give us Minas Tirith and Osgiliath before Mordor.

I’d love play a survival skirmish in Osgiliath. A troop of mounted cavalry with Faramir going in against, what 10 divisions of Orcs? In LOTRO terms, say a 12-24 man level 70 raid versus level ~30 orcs – but there are 10,000 of them.
