On October 24th, the Fellowship finally reached Rivendell, safe and sound. Thanks to your generous donations, we walked all the way from Weathertop to the Last Bridge on the 21st and then made our way through the Trollshaws until we reached Imladris yesterday. The Fellowship’s Walk has finally come to an end, successfully raising $5,000 for Child’s Play. Thank you!
Here are the latest adventures of the Fellowship on our way to the elven city of Rivendell.
Leaving Weathertop, the Fellowship took a wrong turn and ended up taking the scenic tour of the Lone-Lands…

Doing some off-road walking, we had not realized the dangers of pointy cliffs. You know, those where we don’t see the other side? Well, sometimes, like in this case on that particular night, the cliff mischievously hides a huuuuuge ravine behind it. In which I fell. Of course. And in which the entire Fellowship fell, everyone being on follow. Of course. Almost right in an orc camp, sheesh. We called it our little detour…
So after a bit of confusion, a big laugh and some time to heal our wounds, we went finally reached the road. Much safer.

On the road in the Lone-Lands.
The Fellowship on the Last Bridge!

We ended up taking another jump, this time willingly, to take a refreshing swim in the river after Goldenstar’s suggestion.
Finally the Fellowship left the Last Bridge on the 24th.

Into the Trollshaws. It’s a good thing we had our protectors with us, keeping the path safe for the younger ones!
Crossing the Bruinen River, our $4,500 marker.
Entering the valley of Rivendell!
In front of the Last Homely House, residence of Elrond!
Kneeling down to thank all the donors who made this extraordinary journey possible!

I’m so thrilled that the Fellowship’s Walk made it all the way to Rivendell and the Child’s Play charity now has $5,000 more to help lift the spirits of sick baby hobbits!

A heroic job all around for the Fellowship and its supporters! I think this is going to be a real record-breaker of a year for Child’s Play, and it’s because of things like this.
Here’s to hoping that we’ll see the Fellowship again this time next year. Today, Rivendell. Tomorrow . . . Mordor?

Yay! I’m so glad we met the goal!
I should have set a goal of screenshot taking during the walks, because I am sure I would have exceeded it with the walk to Rivendell. Over 200 pictures! Amazing how often you can hit F11 when your character is walking along on Follow and others are killing all the dangerous beasties.
