Codemasters has announced that their Free-to-Play will begin on Monday, October 25th. This is great news and shows promise that F2P will indeed be coming soon to Europe. Considering how shortly this is going up after the recent announcement by David Solari, this might mean we will see a release of F2P in November; hopefully either before or at the release of Turbine’s scheduled November content update!

The preview event will start on Monday the 25th of October. Stress tests and events will be organized on the dedicated server of the preview event, in order to prepare the F2P version for all EU servers shortly thereafter.The more players we will have to test the new content and F2P, the quicker our tests will be completed and we can then apply the F2P model on all our EU servers.

Hurray !!!
But it’s just a preview, sort of beta testing on a dedicated server with a dedicated client.
We don’t know yet when the real F2P will be online.
Oh and we got a new forum skin too !!!

Yeah, but it means it’s all the closer. I’m guessing they’ll want to do some general and stress testing, but that it should take less time than it did with turbine.

The first sentence is a little misleading, making it look as if Free to play will begin on Oct. 25. I think a better thing to say would be that the Free to play preview will begin on Oct. 25.
However, this is good news for European player’s.

Well, people in the forums all seem to think it will last three days, but it all really depends on how many people we can get on for the stress tests. At last we know f2p is close

They probably are ready to go. But they still need to make sure that their store won’t buckle under the pressure of the tens, potentially even HUNDREDS of people still playing on their servers.
