It has been a week since the last Free to Play update came out for our European friends and still there is no news (or at least none I could find) concerning a date for the European release. They are at least communicating that there is no news!
We are continuing to do our best to overcome the challenges still facing the launch of Free to Play in Europe. As soon as those are resolved we’ll have a clear and definite date for when the update will be applied to the European service.
What seems slightly worse is the Welcome Back benefits players were seeing as a sort of “We’re Sorry” for being late was turned off this week. Many European players had assumed this promotion would continue for as long as the delay was in effect.
Dnote posted today the reasons behind that and plans to start a new Welcome Back promotion temporarily.
Whilst we cannot run the Welcome Back promotion for an indefinite period, we can run the 5% XP and free travel event from time to time. This weekend, the bonus XP and free travel will be switched on for all existing players to enjoy starting Friday 4:00PM until Monday 9:00AM (GMT+1).
No news yet but enjoy your free travel and experience bonus this weekend! Hopefully the wait will not be too much longer!

Frankly, the free travel is a bit of a waste of time for most of us, and the xp bonus too. We want the new content and class changes, and some reasonable explanation at this point.

Doing business is EMEA is 100% different and more wrought with pitfalls compared to the US. I’m sure there’s probably some aspect of the Store experience that’s not jiving with either EU rules or an individual country’s law, so how do you combat that…
I don’t think it’s anything technical that’s holding Codemasters back.

If I hadn’t bought MoM to use as soon a f2p hits, I wouldn’t hesitate a moment to move to US servers…

Although the wait is long, I try to make the best of the free horse-rides. I am currently doing Vol 1-books with all my alts to spare me the stable-charges. And that is really nice for book12-15!
And to be honest. I didnt think f2p would start until december, so I wasnt that disapointed with the late arrival. But if it is released after new years, then i start to get worried.
