Meanwhile, in old world Europe, no word when we’ll be able to patch our clients or will there be an early start for existing subscribers at all (if they aim for Friday launch, I guess not). No info from Codemasters at all. Now I envy you guys across the pond.

Quote from the Warcry chat that has me excited:

“Look for this in the future ‐ we will be removing Radiance from LOTRO.”

      Me Too!

We took Radiance outside, tied it up to some railroad tracks, and…well…I think you saw the
end of this in Red Dead Redemption. Look for this in the future ‐ we will be removing Radiance from
      LOTRO.

I kept my client running at my home PC while I’m on campus. Hopefully, it is updating! I attended the chat over here via a web client, but it seems my questions never got around to being asked, oh well! I wanted to see some more housing details and also any possibility of the locked stable routes being available to free or premium via other means.

I believe Goldenstar was curious whether or not Turbine will get around to checking product keys and game time. I got an email 5 days after I sent my product key to them, verifying my key was valid and had game time! I was pretty certain that was the case, but glad to get confirmation from them. Since I’m not even a live player, I expect I was on the lower priority list, so I was fine with the delay.

not to be overly pessimistic, but just because they remove radiance does not imply there won’t be some other gate in place which is just as tedious or worse. I believe there will be some kind of gating mechanic to raids, I just hope they can find a good balance.

The gate they have applied to the revamped instances where you must complete all the wings of Helegrod and GB before you can enter the final boss portion looks promising!

I don’t think it’s being pessimistic, but realistic. There were always be gating whether it’s player enforced or game enforced. Sure, sometimes as players we will lift those restrictions at times if possible; but sometimes not so much.

It’s not so much the gating that I mind about radiance. Heck, I have 120 radiance so am able to participate in all raids at this point. What I don’t like about it is that it forces everyone to wear the same armor when in a raid. I’d like to be able to pick what I think is the best armor set for a particular raid and go with that instead of being forced to wear a certain thing simply because it is my only choice.

My patch download only froze once & was complete after an hour. Now to wait for the servers to come back. So rad is going away? I never hated it as much as some people, but that is some pretty big news.

The Radiance change really surprised me. That’ll make a lot of people happy.

This is something that could be a lot of fun if they do get around to implementing it:

Honvik: Question: Are there any plans to introduce PvMP Skirmish instances where
    monster’s and fight freeps?
Yes, that is currently under investigation with (very) early spec’ing happening. More
detail than that I can’t say.

I started patching my US account at 14:10 EST and it was done by 14:50 which impressed me, as I’m based in SE London !

There appears to be a complete information blackout with regard to Codemasters. Their customer relations staff haven’t posted a reply, tweet or anything in 36 hours.

I’m nosing around to see if there is a “bigger issue” behind it all.

Maybe its old news but I thought the mention of “vanity pets” for all classes being on the table for the future was a nice tidbit.

I mean, I never really believed that farmer Maggot was a Loremaster even with his hound pets :)

        Pets I’d like to see:
Echidna or Platypus – our down under friends get no love.
Dophin – for those long swims in Evendim
Penguin – When hanging with my bro’s in Forochel
Bat – Bats are just so cool, I am dissapointed they are all bad in Lotro.
Chicken – so I can have fresh eggs at my house in the shire.

Rolled a toon on Riddermark tonight. Wow, there were so many people in the starter instance. It was amazing. I then tried the same on Gladden, my usual server, and while there were not as many there it was still more crowded than normal. So far so good I say.
