Two things I learned from my brief time at ddo is that there’s always something on sale, and if you’re patient than anything you’re looking for will eventually be on the block

That is kind of what I figured, Rodariel. I have a free DDO account and so get their email adverts for the store.

I managed to buy a skirmish while it was on sale this past weekend. Went with Thievery and Mischief due to the suggestions from the F2P launch special edition podcast!
I wonder when quest packs will go on sale, been saving my TP for them. I already have Lone Lands, but will be some time before my main gets past LL.

Hey Merric,
I’m 99% sure the wardrobe slot was cheaper when f2p went live. I think it was around 5/600. I was also going to buy it but I didnt have my TP yet. When I got my points the price was up. You got a good deal. Also I get emails from Turbine about my order when I buy stuff. Check that!
Cheers

Yeah, I thought it was 695 when I bought the first slot and now it’s 965. GS mentioned that it could be scaling, but I can’t say for sure. I’m tempted to buy another slot of shared storage to see what happens, but if it did scale it scaled by $3.00! That’s a STEEP increase. I don’t know who’s controlling the prices, but they’re a bit out of control. $10 for 20 slots? wtf, really?

I think a number of items have gone up in price. I picked up some stat increases, for 395 for the first increase, now that is up closer to 500 i think. It is a little annoying how they seem to be randomly adjusting prices on all items. Hopefully it stabilizes in the near future.

Yeah, I’ve thought that the prices in the store seem very expensive. I haven’t bought anything out of principle even though all my points have been free. I understand that Turbine is trying to make money and the basic principles of capitalism would suggest that they should charge whatever the market will pay, but I’m not going to be part of it until it is a bit more reasonable. I was very excited about buying more shared storage, but not $10 excited. Crap, that’s half of what I payed for the SoM + the Adventurer’s Pack.

I have a question regarding point amounts – mine seem to fluctuate a lot. One day I had roughly 2000 and the next day it was down to 240. It seems that every day brings a completely different amount. Is there a reason for this? Are the points shared by all your alts, or are they individualized for each alt you have?
September 14, 2010 at 12:51 pm
The points are per account, not per character. That’s why I’ve been focusing on things that will affect my entire account rather than things that would affect a single character.
They were running into issues about accidentally awarding people too many points to people and then having to take them away. I’m not sure if they’re still adjusting them, but it certainly sounds like it.

I got a couple of good deals. I guess this is dumb, but I was happy to use some of my free points to unlock riding for my new character. I’m so tired of that quest line!
The slowness of the store currently hurts a bit though. I accidentally purchased $100 worth of points instead of $50 (I liked the bonus), so I’m waiting on a response for a refund on that.
I also managed to buy two sets of the identical tome for one character. Apparently whatever happened made the purchases go through even though you’re not supposed to be able to buy more than one. So I got one set my character used and another that did nothing… Still got charged.
I’ll have to write in about that soon. I wish they had a specific place to write with store issues. The current forum issues make it impossible for me to write on the forum. I wrote to account support in the meantime, but I’m not even sure if that’s the right place. It mostly sucks because they need about a week to respond

The mount quest is very much different now. It’s just a simple run around the track & done thing although the store was probably the simplest route
