In this episode, we take a look at Warden Trainer Lite by Galuhad, a plugin specifically designed for Wardens in order to make remembering and performing gambits a lot easier.
I like this plugin for a number of reasons, mainly because it reads what gambits you know and only allows you to use those instead of just having a pre-created list of all the gambits in the game. Once installed, you load the the plugin either by using the previously reviewed Plugin Manager or by using the /plugins load WardenTrainerLite command and you’re set! I think I will be using this mostly as a reminder to complete my deeds for now. What I would like to see in the future is a way to assign hotkeys to gambits or maybe a quick menu so that I can quickly change between gambits rather than having to use a menu, but for now this suites my purpose quite nicely.

We did do a review on the plugin manager earlier. http://www.casualstrolltomordor.com/2010/08/plugin-reviews-01/
Link to it wasn’t added because until yesterday it was still in beta. You should be able to find it on the forums or visit one of the plugin sites.

Are any of these addons ready yet, and where do you get them?

@Sinanju, you can find them starting to pop-up on LotroPlugins.com and Lotrointerface.com.
Merric, thanks for doing these videos. Because of them, I decided to give the plugins a try. I have the manager installed which definitely makes a huge difference. I currently run Pet Carousel and BuffBars on my LM and I’m absolutely loving them both! I can wait for them to expand the BuffBars to fellowship/raid wide, it is certainly easier than looking at the tiny symbols under my Morale bar.

i keep getting these errors while i try loading plugins
…e Lord of the Rings OnlinePluginsTurbineEvent.lua:58: attempt to index local ‘EventInstanceMetatable’ (a nil value)

Make sure that you have the Turbine Libraries installed as well: http://www.casualstrolltomordor.com/2010/09/how-to-manually-install-plugins/

Already had them installed but tried again to be on the safe side

It is possible that if this plugin is old enough that it is currently broken. Unfortunately, this can occur as Turbine updates their LUA and Lua authors stop updating their plugins. Try taking a look at WardenEase or Warden Indicator.

Still the same errors could be possible that turbine have just updated perhaps and i need to wait for the authors to update again perhaps?

Thanks for letting us know! I’m really glad you updated this as it’s one that I use quite a bit. It’s been updated in the original post.

Merric, is your computer video rate (FPS) that bad or is it just the video capture rate that blows? Because it does not make justice to this wonderful game when you watch a “jumpy” video such as this one, where the animations are not flowing smoothly but rather jump from frame 8 to frame 20 in one shot? You may need some tweaking to do if that’s your actual PC output my friend… <3

It was the program that I was using to record; it just didn’t do a good job. However, if you see the later episodes it is much better. I just used a different program to record and another to edit.

Oh my friend, my sincere apology. Now that I’ve watched your following recordings I can see not only that the frame rate is as smooth and cool as your blog, but the editing as well was taken to a higher level. Congrats and keep up this excellent kind of work. <3
