Touring the Kinhall: The Fellowship

Following my advertisement in the Bree-land Times, an amazingly well done in-game monthly newspaper player made, I was contacted by The Fellowship to decorate their lovely kinhall in the Shire. They wanted something cheerful colourful that was Hobbit appropriate.

I went for bright yellow with red accents and wooden furniture in the main living area. The green floors allowed me to complete my colourful pallet.

I had my lesson with Goldenstar and knew that to please my client, I just had to put (at least!) a keg somewhere…ScreenShot00004

I allowed myself to go with darker colors in the other small rooms of the house. Having both section work together is always important though!

And a cosy bedroom there!

I think the Fellowship now has a pretty comfortable hobbit hole, hope they enjoy it!

Nice post, Kia. I particularly like the study area.

I only have a small house and not a lot of experience with furnishing it. Are some items interactive? I was able to jump onto my hammock and lie down on it, but otherwise, we can’t normally do things with furnishings other than our Chests, can we?

The only interactive indoor furniture will be the candlestands and fireplaces: You can light them up! The candles and fire will stay on until you leave the homestead. Some taxidermist trophies also has effect on people, making them sick or scared; those effects are listed along with the items in the furniture guide.
As for outdoor items, I think the only one you can activate is the watcher pond, which throws you in the air!

There are some interactive items. You can lie on a bed or sit in a chair. Others take a special action if you click on them. The Sinister Keg is a notorious case for this. Some trophies include humorous effects. Most items, though, are just decoration.

Perhaps some day Kia will write an article on interactive furnishings.
