It’s been a while since we toured kinhalls: I’ve been so busy decorating! So I’ve decided to present you some of my own designs created lately for clients on Landroval.
Here is the house of the Merchant’s Guild, a kin lead by Elahndria. Although she had a pretty well decorated hall before contacting me, she wanted something different from what she was used to do. She specified loving earth tones, wanting an elven inspired theme and liking the Summerfest Wallpaper.
I have to admit I was a bit worried about working with the Summerfest Wallpaper at first. I’ve seen it used a lot with little success in other’s design and had a hard time figuring how to work with it myself. I finally decided to balanced the very busy pattern of the dwarven trees with plain floor and keep the color scheme to the minimal. Since elven furniture is red, I had to use it in my design, and I chose olive as the base color for my walls and floor.
When working in a large room, each corner should have its own story to tell. However, be sure it ties together with the rest of the room as your character moves around!

The kin had a lot of beautiful pieces to work with and I thought this bear worked perfectly with the green and white colors of the wall.

And here’s the main room general view!![]()
I chose to go with wooden furniture in the second room to create a cosy reading corner. With very pale furniture, I allowed myself to go with a rug a little more patterned. Plus it had a tree on it, blending very well with the rest of the theme. ![]()
Finally there was the obvious challenge of designing the other part of the room with a wallpaper from a Homestead vendor and tying it with the rest of the house. I went with the red and olive colors, adding a bit of fun with the Floral Tile floor.
Thank you for allowing me to decorate your kinhall Elahndria!
