Outside LOTRO: Festival in the Shire

Events, Outside LOTRO

This weekend begins the Tolkien inspired event  Festival in the Shire in the United Kingdom. I hope that anyone close enough to Wales is at least considering going. For those lucky enough to be attending I have to say, I’m extremely jealous.

There is a conference that has our friend Dr. Corey Olsen (The Tolkien Professor) as a speaker. He mentioned the Festival in the Shire in our interview with him on Episode 36. Be sure to read his journal entry on the site. There is art, books memorabilia and a variety of entertainment!

I dearly hope something like this is available in the States someday. This type of event I would positively love to attend!

)-: I’m gutted, we really wanted to go, but on top of travel and accomodation even the basic entry was expensive, and the stuff I really wanted to enter was just beyond what we could really afford.

I hope they do it next year.
