This fall, green, orange and grey are the new colors of the season. And why is that? Well of course, because they are the colors of the new Eriador region: Enedwaith. Beautiful landscapes, crystal lakes and windy plains are a few of the amazing elements that have been incorporated in this region design. Exploring Middle-Earth has never been so pleasant! Enedwaith not only offers new quests and factions –which will fill you all about in subsequent posts!- but also new music, architecture and creatures. Here’s a small description of what you may find while travelling south of Eregion.
Fordirith: The Grey Company has established itself in the elven ruins of Echad Dagoras. All through the region, you will encounter smaller camps of rangers, but here is their main encampement. Eregion’s flora is slowly transforming to something rockier, leaving its red trees behind and discovering the orange earth of Enedwaith.
The Windfells: In this part of the region you’ll have your first encounters with indigenous creature like the Ox or Druggavar and will meet the Algraig, habitants of Enedwaith. You will also find the first remnants of the long lost Gondorian Empire.
The Gloomsglen: While similar to the Windfells and Fordirith in its flora, the Gloomsglen are counting frequent ravines and cliffs. Pretty interesting things are hiding in its valleys. And the Hobbit village of Maur Tulauh is not the least of them!
The Mournshaws: An old forest of Enedwaith. You will still find shrines of peace and beauty in this dark part of the land, but the ancient spirits of the forest has turned against the world and it is now a dangerous place to travel to.
Nan Lealign: A vast plain at the center of the region, Nan Leaglin is also the home of the Algraig, men of Endewaith. Their culture and general look is largely inspired by the Old Welsh folklore. Wearing facial paintings and tartan, these rustic people are not used to welcome outsiders within their lands. Still, they will tolerate your presence in their village of Lhanuch and even allow you to use their crafting hall.
Lich Bluffs: The barrows of the Algraig people. Now always covered in shadows, dark forces are at work here. Numerous caves and tombs awaits you in the Lich Bluffs, don’t forget to bring your light! While in Enedwaith, you will benefit from a light by night, just like you had in Moria, creating an eerie atmosphere into the surrounding darkness.
Thror’s Coomb: Surrounded by snowy mountains, Thror’s Coomb is the home of the Draig-lûth, enemies of the Algraig. It is also the location of a massive Gondorian ruin, Harndirion, where a skirmish camp has been established. Finally, an old dwarven library is hidden in the mountains. This settlement gave its name to the area. Clear waterfalls and gentle falling snow along with blooming flowers and crystal lakes gives this area a unique appeal.
Definitely one of the prettiest regions or Eriador, Enedwaith is sure not to disappoint the explorer in you!

Looking forward to it! (And for a beta key as well)
And now for some Elvish
)
Echad Dagoras simply means Camp of Dagoras so as Elvish as that ruins are it’s probably not their original name.
The fifth area is called Nan Laeglin (a little typo there) which could stand for Valley of green pools (unless there are no pools and I have to consult another dictionary

Some much needed relief after the horrid dark of Mirkwood!
I likes.

Oh, I cannot wait for this. Yes, it will be a relief to escape Mirkwood. Pareth of Gondor will be most pleased to find parts of her heritage in the most interesting places of Enedwaith!

The most amazing Gondorian ruin is the one barely marked on the game map. In the deep southwestern corner of the Lich Bluffs, one comes to a great fortress and a gate. I presume this will be a route to Dunland when the next expansion comes out.

@Narnian
I saw that fortress too & it looks pretty cool. I wonder if its one of the new dungeons or a location for the new epic book quests.
