Berephon released the first of the much anticipated developer diaries about the upcoming additions and changes for LOTRO coming this fall. His post is on the new region, Enedwaith and what sorts of creatures and stories we’ll find travelling through it.
Merric is working on a post on his thoughts from this dev diary but I wanted to make sure you saw it was posted so you can go read it for yourself!

No wonder the goat mounts freak you out, Goldenstar… If mine looked like the one in the picture there, I’d never ride it!

I know. Enedwaith has demon goats! I’m soooo not visiting there. I wonder if their glowy demon eyes are rectangles.

So are all these rangers going to disappear from their previous locations? I didn’t see an explanation of how that would work. If they take them out, how will lower-level toons get the quests they give now?

It’s not really clear but I would hazard a guess they will be in both locations. Too many quests depend on them back in Eriador to remove them.

Yeah I’m sure they will be in both places. This is already done in other ways, such as the Fellowship can be found both in Rivendell and Lothlorien. They do put a date up in Lothlorien to show that it is a different time. Maybe they will do the same for the Rangers.

“Ia! Shub-niggurath! The Black Goat of the Woods With a Thousand Young!”
I think my next hobbit will be named Wilbur Whateley…

Heh. Yeah, the Watcher in the Water kinda reminds me of Cthulhu…
“That is not dead which may eternal lie. And with strange aeons, even death may die. In his house in R’lyeh Cthulhu waits dreaming.”

Awesome read.
I am really curious, since they mentioned it,….if there will be a way to get to Enedwaith not only from Eregion, but connect a seamless path through the GreenWay Road to Bree as well,.
That would be Hotness!

when i read the section about the demon goats i couldn’t stop giggling. The thought of goats stalking me thinking of how i would taste is too much!

This expansion looks fantastic! I love what they’ve done to fill out this region using a mix of Tolkien’s work and “filling in the gaps” with Welsh mythology. It looks and sounds like a lot of fun… can’t wait to try it out!

Hmmm, may have to name my next toon Chupacabra, he who fears no goat!
BTW Chubacabra means goat sucker in spanish.
