Hmm. I wonder what’s in that ‘Character Upgrades’ tab.

I assume the text under the items in the second screenshot are just randomly selected descriptions of things you can get from the DDO store.

Hum, and I thought we could not buy gold with Turbine point…Unless the housing maintenance system will be changed, ain’t buying ”maintenance” pretty much like buying gold?

Honestly this argument could be made for many things. Isn’t buying health potions (instead of buying them in game) like buying gold?

It’s a convenience I doubt I would ever use but could also open up the option of keeping a house for those who lets say burn their in game money as fast as they acquire it. They can still pay the mortgage.

hmmm looks like you can make your house payments with Turbine points. That would be nice.

The first screenshot does show us that extra character slots are 20 TP each and you get 1 character slot per server too, so that’s good.

I would imagine the pricing is just a placeholder and would not judge anything based on the numbers in these shots.

If you look close you will notice that almost all prices are 20TP – definitely place holder #’s (just like the DDO store item text placeholders).

Don’t know how I feel about the maintenance pay off for houses, that seems a bit… off to me. Not the price, but the fact that items like that exist.

People w/o alot of expendable cash for TP, and not able to play much will pretty much be the only ones at risk to have their houses locked with that item – players with more time or burnable cash can either amass the money in game, or pay for TP. I am making more of it than it is, but I don’t like the precedence that sort of item could set (and I am entitled to that opinion I hope). Time will tell, Beta started today so hopefully feedback will focus on stuff like that.

Looks interesting – additional vault storage can not get here fast enough. And yes, I very much hope I can easily preview any cosmetics available on any one of my characters seamlessly in game.

Looks good everything looks fine some people mentioned they dont like the house payment. I wont mind this if its a one time payment im kinda hoping it will be like pay $5 and you dont have to pay rent for your house anymore.

That would be kinda cool if you dont want to keep having to remember to pay I know that people will be like well thats kinda like buying gold but its really not. All it is is paying money for your time so instead of going and grinding the money you pay the money to not have to.

No different to someone paying for accelerated exp or the deed boosts they where talking about. Your just paying money so you dont have to spend as much time doing something.

The setup looks just like the DDO store (not a surprise of course), which I’ve recently given a try. I’m sure the prices are just holders. I thought I’d throw some money at the DDO store to see how things work. I was f2p, with two character slots. I then paid 19.95 or something close to get around 1550 points, and spent 795 points to open up the monk class. The purchase then moved me to a Premium I assume, giving me 4 character slots. So there’s an example of pricing for DDO, if anyone is interested.

I really hope I can find a good cosmetic hat for my RK, I can’t find one in-game that doesn’t make me look like a jester.

Hmm. Sure seem to be a lot of potions!

Bound to undermine the market for scholar stuff. Cooks, watch out, Turbine will being taking your business away too real soon, is my guess.

Heck: it’s government interference in trade!
    Socialism comes to Middle Earth!!

    • Dreadhed Says:

@Wilifro. Lol, I think you have it backwards. Unregulated capitolism leads to monopolies, that is what turbine is doing monopolizing your business. And making real money off of it to boot. If it was socialism, they would be giving everyone 10 pots of X, Y times a week., and making sure no one had too much of any item.

no, government enforced monopoly is socialism by definition, but I digress…
As for crafting, remember this (my observation):
        – from the beginning, crafting was an afterthought (as per the dev blogs)
        – with each expansion, especially legendary items, crafting was cut off at the knees
        – this merely continues that trend, so no surprise

Looks like the Item descriptions in the third picture are actually from DDO Store items, lol. House Deneith for example.

It’s all placeholders for now. I imagine as Bullroarer gets new builds updated to that server, things will shape up.

I’m loving the housing maintenance cost option, with a house and kin house I’m all about keeping my hard earned silver ;)

My take is they will be following the DDO store model with most items bound to account or character from the store – so people can’t buy a ton of health pots to sell and make gold.

As far as Housing, if I can buy a small crest or other inventory item with my TP I’m getting per month subscribing or that I’d purchase anyway, then walk to within range of the house and double click it to pay a week or more of upkeep, I’m good with that if it is a fair price in TP.
