Fantastic visual guide for housing items. Thank you very much. I think it’s time to start redecorating my houses
June 17, 2010 at 9:24 am
Amazingly useful guide — thank you!
June 17, 2010 at 9:35 am
Man, this is a great article.
“Festival Items will be covered in Annex I and Taxidermist Items in Annex II, which should be released later this summer.”

June 17, 2010 at 9:42 am
Awesome, Lotrolife had something similar but this is my new favorite!
June 17, 2010 at 10:21 am
Yes! They where also my favorite
However some info where missing and some items too, hope this one will answer all your questions about furniture!
June 17, 2010 at 9:56 am
Awesome guide, I need to do some rep farming so I can redecorate. Thanks so much for the great work!
June 17, 2010 at 9:57 am
What a great housing guide! I had wondered what a lot of those skirmish decorations looked like, but was afraid to spend marks on something I may not like. I also appreciate how you showed the floor and wall surfaces in each color. It’s very helpful to see how each color will look with them.
June 17, 2010 at 10:00 am
Haven’t checked all but some images in the Large and Small Furniture sections don’t match the text.
Nice guide anyway, is it going to Lorebook?
June 17, 2010 at 10:23 am
Thank you so much for pointing that out! We are going to change that right away. That kind of mistake was bound to happen, hehe.
June 17, 2010 at 10:05 am
WOW! This will really come in handy!
June 17, 2010 at 11:18 am
This is the guide I’ve been waiting for! Thank you!
June 17, 2010 at 11:22 am
The big problem seems to be that you don’t have any of the Festival decorations, which are really the best in the game most of the time. I think I have most Festival items if you would like to get pictures to add to the collection. Also a comprehensive guide to trophies would be a great addition.
June 17, 2010 at 11:28 am
As stated in the post Festival Items will be coming in a later update. This is just the purchased and rep items.
We also plan to include the taxidermy items and started pulling together a list of the trophy items.
We’re even trying to work out a way to sample the music themes.
This is just the start!
June 17, 2010 at 11:53 am
The housing music (at least some pieces) is actually on the SoA soundtrack.
June 17, 2010 at 11:55 am
Yeah but it’d still be nice to sample before buying, right?
June 17, 2010 at 1:05 pm
What I meant is that you can make the sample out of the mp3 rather that trying to record it in-game or whatever you were planning to do
August 10, 2010 at 12:52 pm
Actually, I think they’re actually DIFFERENT. For example, “Hills of the Shire” is completely different between the soundtrack and ambient; same with “Lay of the Free Peoples.” I didn’t check the others, but I assume they would be different too.
June 18, 2010 at 11:57 am
Ack. Reading comprehension FTW.
June 17, 2010 at 12:48 pm
Fantastic guide, thanks for putting it together!
June 17, 2010 at 3:00 pm
I loved how you showed the wall texture and color. That was spot on!! I also liked seeing that I could get the Lothlorien garden gate. I love that one, but didn’t know it was a available. I got a different Lothlorien garden gate, which is pretty, but not what I was hoping it would be.
I don’t know where the large garden compass falls in identification, but don’t forget to add that one too. I have it in my yard if you need a picture to use.
Really wonderful job!!
June 17, 2010 at 3:32 pm
Thank you!
As for the compass, I think you are referring to the Sundial, and this will be presented in Annex I since it’s a fall festival item!
June 17, 2010 at 5:18 pm
Fabulous!
Thanks so much.
June 18, 2010 at 8:23 am
that is an OUTSTANDING guide! many, many thanks for putting it together!
June 18, 2010 at 10:22 am
Excellent stuff, we had been using a very good one from the links section of our site, but this has skirmish stuff too so its even better!
P.S the Pesky Doormouse is also found in the loot bag which you can buy for £4.99 from Codemasters over here, and I assume the same for turbine over there?
June 18, 2010 at 10:32 am
I’ve never heard of loot bags before. If we have them, I’m not aware of it!
June 18, 2010 at 10:39 am
Ooo, wonder if it was an EU thing, In hindsight it was probably testing to see if we’d pony up a fiver for some cosmetics and a few consumable bits of crap, as a F2P tester… needless to say both Emma and I did

June 18, 2010 at 1:32 pm
WoW! This is a wonderful guide.
June 19, 2010 at 1:18 am
Is this fully complete for ALL of the skirmish, bought, and reputation furnishings – or is this still somewhat incomplete? When do you think you’ll have the Taxi/Trophy portions up(I think that’s the part that’s most needed :/) Either way extremely well done, and bookmarked in the hopes the other stuff will be up in the near future.
June 19, 2010 at 8:08 am
Yes it is all. If you know of something missing please let us know.
Like we said in the post we will be working on getting additional pieces this summer. It takes a while to gather all this information! Kia has been working on just this piece for a while and we thought it best to give you what we had rather than waiting for all of it.
June 19, 2010 at 5:34 pm
The only difference I spotted was the Lothlorien garden gate. The one in the guide is not the same one I picked up in Lothlorien.
The one I have has a statue of a woman on both sides with purple Wysteria hanging down from the top (the ones seen in Galadhriel’s garden). The one posted in the guide looks like the one seperating the party area from the forest.
June 19, 2010 at 6:51 pm
I think you are referring to the Lorien Trellis, which is a Small Yard decoration. The Lorien Garden Gate is a Large Yard decoration. They are both acquired with Lothlorien branches, but from different barterers and requires different levels of reputation.
June 26, 2010 at 9:41 am
Nice guide. I think you are missing the Lossoth rep furniture though.
June 26, 2010 at 11:08 am
Nope it’s in there. Check the yard decorations.
June 26, 2010 at 1:37 pm
I believe you have the wrong image for the Summer Welcome Mat. I’m looking at the one at our Kinhall right now and it is different.
Also, you have the summer wall papers mislabeled. In order the images show Summerfest, Festival of Enedhin, Summerdays and Lithe Days.
(Yes, I’m a nit picker.))
June 26, 2010 at 2:45 pm
You’re right! I’m going to fix this right away, thank you for pointing it out.
June 26, 2010 at 3:27 pm
I’ve corrected the wallpaper. It was correct in the PDF but got misordered on the post. Kia said she is going to take a new picture of the welcome mat. Thanks Fionnuala.
July 1, 2010 at 12:54 am
The trophies you have for Eriador/Rhovanion are not right.
July 1, 2010 at 6:03 am
Not really a helpful statement unless you elaborate.
July 1, 2010 at 8:30 am
Hello! Please note that the trophies are classified per taxidermist. This means that all the trophies you can get from Rhovanion Taxidermists will be in the Rhovanion section, even you can find some of the tokens used to obtain the trophies inside instances in Eriador. This explains why the Omnious Pool and Turtle head are listed in the two sections for example. It is because you can obtain those trophies with all three taxidermists.
July 1, 2010 at 3:52 pm
omg…tyvm
I have been hopping from one lotro database site to another, looking for pictures of the different decorations. (After all, what’s a girl to do when looking for that perfect rug to accent her new table?)
Wonderful reference set for the shopaholic Elf that I am! Again, thank you.
July 2, 2010 at 10:37 am
Very nice guide…. but i also hope you will be adding the music housing items to it.
also its missing the event trophy that gms gave to people
‘Best House in the Neighbourhood Trophy’
July 6, 2010 at 11:03 pm
One of the best visual guides for all things housing ever! Excellent work.
July 14, 2010 at 10:48 pm
This is incredible, and exactly what I was hoping to find now that I’ve finally decided to put SOMETHING in my house!
Thanks Kiarane!
July 17, 2010 at 8:29 am
Wow, this is amazing. I have this page bookmarked and use it all the time. Great job on this page Kia, and also on the podcast.
August 3, 2010 at 11:54 pm
This is fantastic! I think this is the most complete LotRO Housing items guide I’ve ever come across.
Kia, awesome job putting all this together.
August 9, 2010 at 2:32 am
Absolutely wonderful guide, thank you. I wish I found it before I, uh, wasted a whole bunch of silver…
I think you’re missing the Caras Galadhon Tapestry (small wall), though, from Lothlorien. Tharnelleth, 15 branches.
January 18, 2011 at 9:40 am
Wonderful guides!! You’ve done a great job as it is impossible to try anything without buying it and the pictures from the retailers don’t say much about what you are buying.
I noticed you don’t have the large yard stage which was available for 2010 Yule Festival and it is really nice. If you need a picture just let me know, I bought it and make plays and small concerts on my yard
January 19, 2011 at 7:45 pm
The Stage is listed under Winter festival items! Festival items have their own section as they are not available all year long to players.
January 20, 2011 at 7:10 am
Sorry, my mistake! I was looking only at the pdf file, which is different (and shorter!) from the page dedicated to it
January 26, 2011 at 4:27 pm
thank you for sharing
August 24, 2011 at 9:15 am
I decorated my entire house using this guide. Up to date, detailed (even crafting ingredients!) and a picture for every item. Absolutely awesome, big thanks!
October 27, 2011 at 4:38 am
A wonderful bit of work, this. Much appreciated. I have two suggestions for things I’d like to see to see. (1) a notation when a furnishing can be used, and what happens if you do. (2) with surfaces, at least one large image, so you can see the detail.
Many tnanks!
October 27, 2011 at 5:57 am
Kia does note when furnishing can be used and what it is effect is. We had larger images of the surfaces but they were all lost. This is all we have left for now.
August 23, 2012 at 7:12 pm
Is it just me or the Decoration Guides are now missing from the dropdown list under “Guides”?
August 23, 2012 at 7:20 pm
It is and always has been under “housing”
August 25, 2012 at 4:14 pm
Ok, I found it, it moved already to the “Older Posts” second page. It’s just I was expecting the general guide (this page) to be more eyecatching. I didn’t notice it before as I had it bookmarked in my favorites, till the other day I wanted to access from a friend’s PC. Thank you!
January 5, 2013 at 7:49 pm
Is there a webpage that lists current open houses? I love to look at the interiors, but it is maddening trying to find a house that is unlocked (open).
January 5, 2013 at 8:14 pm
Unfortunately no there’s not a listing like that anywhere that I’m aware of.
January 6, 2013 at 4:25 pm
There’s this post with videos of house interiors if you’d like to have a look at them before purchase!

ADD annex:hytbolt furniture, please.
January 22, 2013 at 10:41 am
I don’t have any yet so it’s a little difficult.
