Welcome Back Week

October 14, 2009

LOTRO News, Turbine

LOTRO is having a new “Welcome Back” week that allows cancelled subscribers to come back and play their LOTRO characters for free for a week. The plan is to show them how awesome LOTRO is and get them hooked up into a multi-month plan to get the free expansion.Welcome Back

Returning players get a 25% experience bonus to help them boost along. This bonus is in addition to rested XP bonus.

In past iterations of Welcome Back week, the 25% boost was for all players, not just these returning players. I’m assuming this is still the case although the post by Turbine doesn’t specify this. This is great news for people like Merric and I still trying to level up for Mirkwood!

Fall Festival must be releasing in conjunction with this event as one of the points of interest for the returning players is to “Enjoy the Fall Festival”. That just means the festival was delayed a day or two which isn’t so bad.

Welcome back week starts tomorrow (October 14) and will run until October 21st.
