A new game of chance is available on the my.lotro web site. Try the LOTRO Lottery! This is a new beta feature that can aware your characters in-game rewards! As it is a beta, they are hoping for some good feedback on this system and helpful criticisms to improve it.
Here’s how you play:
- Log into my.lotro.com with your community login
- Look for the Lottery Widget (in the left hand column by default)
- If you are eligible for any current drawings, you may click on one to enter.
These drawings are for your characters, not you the player. Entries are limited to one per character per drawing.
What sort of items are up for grabs? All prizes are for in-game items only. There was no specific details but they do hint that some will be based on the winning character’s race, class, level, etc. This first lottery’s price is level appropriate amount of silver and two bundles of fireworks! Winners will be notified by in-game mail.
This lottery is open to North American LOTRO players only. Sorry Europeans, perhaps Codemasters will have something like this for you soon.
This sounds super fun to me! I can’t look at my.lotro.com from work so it’ll have to wait for me to find the lottery widget but I certainly will be trying this when I get home tonight. If you’ve already entered into the lottery leave us a comment and let us know about it!

Found your blog via your character on MyLotRO.com. Goldenstar the Hobbit I think was the name. I thought it was a nice Hobbit name and everyone knows that Hobbitses are cool(am I biased or what?
)
Anyways, I am guessing you have already tried the Lottery. I think it’s kind of cool. Maybe it will help reduce some of the whining in the forums from all those players that feel they are entitled to something?? Anyways, moving on…
